FAU ACI
Academy for Community Inclusion
Who we are
FAU ACI is a post-secondary program for students with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
We are located on the FAU Jupiter campus
Combination of specialized coursework and courses from the general FAU Catalog.
The program is a certificate program with three certificate tracks. The three tracks are supported employment, supported community access, and supported community living. Each certificate is approximately 20 credits. The number of credits per semester varies by student skill and need. The central goals of the courses are to improve employment potential and increase student's ability in self-determination skills.
An inclusion program where students fully imersed into the FAU community.
Students at the FAU ACI are considered FAU students first and receive all the benefits of being a student at FAU. They pay undergraduate tuition fees, they go to athletic events, clubs, and campus activities, they eat in the dining halls, and they have the opportunity to live in the dorms their second year in the program. Students receive OWL cards to be able to access all campus events and resources.
Peer mentors and job coaches are some of the provided support on and off campus.
